Gold Ball Turnip (Brassica rapa) Often referred to as Orange Turnip or Orange Jelly Turnips in regions of Europe where it originated. Introduced to North America in the mid 1800’s, this easy to grow heirloom turnip has smooth golden flesh and reaches peak nutritional value and flavour when harvested around 3”. This is a very flavourful variety and our best storing turnip to date.

Planting Instructions: A fast-growing, cool-season crop, perfect for spring and fall planting.
Direct sow seeds 1–2 cm (½ in) deep as soon as soil can be worked. Thin seedlings to 10–15 cm (4–6 in) apart, with rows spaced 30–45 cm (12–18 in).
Turnips prefer full sun and well-drained, fertile soil. Keep soil consistently moist. Harvest when roots are 5–8 cm (2–3 in) in diameter for best flavour.
