Big Boston Lettuce
Big Boston Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) A popular Butterhead type of lettuce, this variety of open pollinated lettuce produces medium/large size heads that have a delicate sweet flavour. The bright green colour and texture of the leaves trickle down into the soft yellow heart. This lettuce grows best in cooler weather, and the seeds will become dormant if the temperature rises above 30°C (86°F). Grow alongside onions, cucumbers or carrots for companion planting.

Planting Instructions: Sow Lettuce seeds 1/4 inch deep in early spring when soil temperature is between 10-20 degrees Celsius. Thin heading Lettuce to 12 inches apart and loose types to 8 inches.
