Tango Cosmos - (Cosmos sulphureus)  A delightful plant that produces fiery double blossoms of bright orange with yellow centers, perched on wire-like 18-24” stems. A popular choice as a cut flower, stands will become quite dense and bushy by mid summer and happily bloom through a couple of fall frosts. We were sad to say goodbye to the Orange Tango stands after our -4 morning in Oct. 9. They sure did respond well under light frosts to this point. This sun loving annual is a must if you want to assist beneficial insects. Our honey bees waggled towards these plants which were over 1800 ft from the hive, bypassing our buckwheat strips. A standout in any garden or xeriscape initiative. Soil fertility does not appear to alter the growth and flowering of this species. It tends to thrive in our poorest sandy loam fields. We highly recommend this profuse flowering gem!
