German Chamomile

German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) German Chamomile is widely cultivated for its herbal properties as a calming sedative and its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent. The herb itself grows up to 24 inches tall, and has small delicate flowers with white petals surrounding yellow centres. All parts of this herb are edible, the stems being largely bitter but effective for digestion. German Chamomile, supported by research, can reduce the effects of generalized anxiety when used for periods of up to 8 weeks. An annual herb used for its overall medicinal effectiveness and delicately smooth taste in herbs and teas, this chamomile is worthy of adding to your herb garden.

Planting Instructions: Start indoors 5-6 weeks before lining outdoors. Broadcast seeds on top of soil and add plastic dome.  Seeds can be sown outdoors in the late fall to enhance spring germination.
