Zinck Pole Beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) Jack and the Beanstalk could have been inspired by these magical beans. This Nova Scotian family heirloom was gifted to us in 2017 from Merle & Elaine Zinck of Lunenburg County, NS. The Zinck family has known no other bean for over 75 years! This is our third year growing these gems and we are now pleased to offer them for sale. This is a very prolific pole bean yielding many 7-9” green beans. An open pollinated descendent of what we suspect is a Kentucky Wonder Bean. ‘Zinck’ beans are more vigorous and higher yielding than our version of Kentucky Wonder so we have decided to offer this open pollinated variety instead. This bean can be planted earlier in the spring than other pole beans. Delicious fresh, cooked, frozen, or dried for shell beans.
