Blue Vervain (Swamp Verbena) (Verbena hastata) - A beautiful native North American perennial known for its tall, upright growth and distinctive branching spikes of tiny violet-blue flowers. Blooming from midsummer into early fall, Blue Vervain typically reaches 2–5 feet in height. It thrives in moist to wet soils and is particularly well suited to marshes, stream banks, and other damp areas. The flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators, providing an important nectar source throughout the summer. Blue Vervain has a long history of traditional herbal use, particularly in North American herbalism, where the leaves and flowering tops have been valued for their various medicinal properties. An excellent choice for gardeners interested in native plants, pollinator habitat, and traditional herb gardens.
