Scarlet Sweet Pea (Lathyrus odoratus) - Our seed source comes from a customer in Steveston, British Columbia. We had direct sown these rather late in 2026 but were pleasantly surprised how vigorous the vines grew persisting well into the mid-summer heat. The flowers were incredibly visible from a 1/4 mile away and intensely fragrant. Deep scarlet-red coloured blooms continued well into August and then again in late September when nights cooled down. Makes a stunning cut flower!
20 seeds per package
Growing Information: Starting indoors: Scarify seeds by nicking or filing a notch (pre-soaking for 2-3 hours in warm water or a weak solution of Chamomile tea may also increase germination %). - Sow 1/2" deep into cell flats or preferred deep-cell seedling container, 4-5 weeks before planting out. Darkness is required for germination. Keep seedlings cooler after two-leaf stage. Direct seed 6 weeks before last frost. Seedlings can tolerate a light frost.
