Amish Snap Pea (Pisum sativum) An heirloom pea cherished by the Amish, pre-dating the Sugar-snap variety of the 1950’s. This is a tall growing Butterpea type of the 18th-19th century with the old fashioned taste. Vines grow 5-6 feet tall and produce many 2-3 inch translucent green pods. This pea will produce over 6-7 weeks if picked regularly. Tender and sweet up to seed maturity.
