Purple Tansy (Phacelia tanacetifolia) - Also known as 'Phacelia', these mauve-blue, fragrant flowers are borne on long, fern-like leafy stems that attract bees and a multitude of other pollinators to your garden. It is no coincidence that Phacelia is in the Borage family, a wide range of species that are heavy nectar producers! Ideal for the vegetable garden as a cover crop or on its own as a stand out feature plant. We have continually planted Purple Tansy as a companion crop next to our cucumbers to lure bees in. It works!! Bloom period can be extended by resowing every 3-4 weeks. Plants reach 20-24 inches and thriveĀ in full sun or partial shade.Ā
