Golden Detroit Beet (Beta vulgaris) - This is an excellent pickling beet with delicious greens. Strikingly yellow elongated roots that are tender and non-bleeders when cooked. Quite vigorous but retains sweetness as roots enlarge. This Golden variety tends to have excellent disease resistance over the original Burpee Golden.

Growing Information: Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep and 1 inch apart, thinning to 2-3 inches apart after germination. Leave 12-18 inches between rows. Begin seeding when soil temperature is 7-10 degrees Celsius.
