Glass Gem Corn (Zea mays) Oklahoma native Carl 'White Eagle' Barnes selected through many native heirloom varieties, arriving at the remarkable Glass Gem corn seed. Glass Gem is essentially a subcategory of Flint corn with a gorgeous array of multicoloured, translucent, gem-like kernels that grace these stunning cobs. The plants are quite sturdy and grow 6-8' tall, with several 6-8 inch long ears per plant. Kernels can be popped or ground into flour, but they're almost always used in autumn displays before consumption. It is said that no two cobs are identical...we would have to agree so far!
