Alpine Columbine (Aquilegia alpina) A stunning variation of Common Columbine. Native to the Swiss Alps, this variety features nodding bell-shaped, double violet-blue flowers. Plants grow 18-24” tall. One of the first perennial flowers on our farm to show dense flowers in the late spring-early summer. Must be planted in well drained soils but can tolerate some partial shade. A good choice for larger outdoor pots and containers. Columbine adapts well to urban pollution and marginal soil types.
