Baba's Blue Delphinium (Delphinium spp) If B.B. King had a flower named after him, this would have been the one. Delphinium is certainly a ‘King of the Blues’ flower wherever it is grown. Few plants are more magnificent in garden beds and arboretums than delphiniums. Baba’s Delphinium plants would have been planted somewhere in the late 1940’s or early 1950’s and purchased through the Dominion Seed House of Georgetown, Ontario. The light baby blue flowers were positioned majestically on the north east corners of the garden fence like a stately, welcoming obelisk. These heirloom seeds are offered to you from my grandmother Katie’s aka ‘Baba’ flower garden.

Planting Instructions: Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Sow at 1/8 inch depth and cover with dark plastic until emergence, then move to bright light. Two weeks of cold stratification before sowing will also increase germination rates.  Seeds can be sown outdoors in the late fall to satisfy cold period required for spring germination.
