Forget-Me-Nots

Forget-Me-Nots (Myosotis alpestris) - A beautifully compact plant with striking indigo blue flowers. An excellent choice for borders, rock gardens, and cuttings. A biennial that will self seed quite readily. Our Forget-Me-Nots thrive in a moist semi-shaded area on the east side of our farmhouse, where they have good company from the Mourning Widow and local bees! Sow directly from May-June or start indoors 8 weeks before planting out. Height 8 -10 inches.

Growing Information: Start forget-me-not seeds in moistened seed-starting mix or vermiculite 7-8 weeks before the last expected frost. Sow lightly, leaving about 1 inch between seeds. Cover seeds very lightly since they need ample light to germinate. Keep moist using clear plastic or dome and remove after emergence in 10-14 days.  Seeds can be sown outdoors in the late fall to enhance spring germination.
