Nova Scotia Large-leaved Lupin Mix (Lupinus polyphyllus) Nova Scotia is famous for many things including the Lupin explosion of late spring and early summer. We have collected a really nice mix of seeds from multiple locations across the province including, the South Shore, Cape Breton, and the Annapolis Valley. We hope you enjoy the blooms, ranging from white, pink, purple, burgundy to blue. It is believed that this species of North American lupin was introduced to Nova Scotia in the early 1900's where there was a great degree of Agricultural interest in the legume plant's ability to fixate Nitrogen in poorer soils. The species can be invasive through seed distribution. Gardeners should contain their plants and cut off seed heads after bloom period.Â
