Pinky Bachelor's Button (Centaurea cyanus) This is an old time classic annual flower, not to be confused with its cousin the Purple Mountain Cornflower, which is a perennial (Centaurea montana). Also known as “cornflower,” these strikingly pink flowers showed up a week earlier than the blue flowers of the blue plant it grew from... one spring in 2019 and never again! That single plant was replanted 1500' away from the blue and has remained true to type - light pink blooms that arise a few days earlier than the well known cousins Blue Boy and Red Boy. Bachelor button flowers are low maintenance and grow well in a full sun.
