Ruthie's Sweet William (Dianthus barbatus) - The seed source for this beautiful flower mix comes from our own Century farm here in Nova Scotia. The original plants were cultivated by Ruthie Colville in the late 1970s, sown in two mounds on the south east corner of the farm house. We have now propagated these specimens over the last four years to form a much larger stand in our Z-field Round-a-bout, as featured in the pictures. This variety of D. barbatus tends to favour darker coloured ruby-red blooms, beginning in early spring until early summer. Expect some pink beauties as the heat of summer begins. This wonderful heirloom is offered for the first time in 2025!
