Violas or Johnny Jump-Ups (Bent Family Heirloom) (Viola cornuta) These delightful little tri-coloured heirloom flowers magically appear everywhere on our heritage farmyard each June. Originally settled by the Bent family in the 1860’s, we are told these are true descents from the original Jane Bent (Mosher) flower gardens of the confederate years. This variety is the true heirloom Johnny Jump-Up, also known as Heart's Ease and European Field Pansy. These miniature pansies are edible and make a wonderful addition to any salad or dessert, or simply a welcoming, cheerful flower to any garden.
