Cats Hollyhock (Alcea rosea) - A family treasure passed on by Judy and Michael Cats of Slate River, Ontario. These dark rose Hollyhocks have been a landmark at the Cats farm for over 40 years. A beautiful dark-rose coloured blooming Hollyhock. Hollyhocks are a biennial, or at best, a weak perennial that will flower in its second year.

Planting Instructions: Start seeds 6-8 weeks before last frost date, sowing in cell pack on surface and slightly covering with soil. Keep under bright light. Germinates in 7-10 days. Transplant seedlings 18-36 inches apart in well-drained soils trying not to disturb the roots. Do not crowd plants, they require good air circulation. Seeds can be sown outdoors in the late fall to enhance spring germination.
