Cosmos, Sea Shells (Cosmos bipinnatus) How about creating the perfect balance in your flower garden with this wonderful ancient flowering species. Cosmos has a unique history dating well back before the 16th century when Spanish sailors brought large quantities of seed and back from Mexico to Madrid. Tube like -seashell pedals range form pastel pinks to rose, fuchsia and white, attracting birds, bees and butterflies. Fern like leaves make this species a wonderful texture in dried flower arrangements. Cosmos is a tall growing annual that can reach height of 5 ft. Profuse flowering will occur  readily on less than ideal soils, making it a great xeriscape plant as well. An easy plant to cultivate and pleasing to all, a must add to your garden landscape.

Planting Instructions: Sow directly at 1/8-1/4" depth or start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date. Sow seed no deeper than 1/8" in soil and lightly cover with dome or plastic film until emergence. Keep under full light and harden plants off 7-10 days before lining out.
