France’s Choice Marigold (Tagetes patula) - Beginning in midsummer the dark green branches of this French marigold give way to 1-1.5" flowers of a fiery burnt orange and glittering gold. An excellent companion of many vegetables where they aromatically repel pests. Makes a nice cut flower with distinctly aromatic leaves and flowers. Can be deadheaded for continuous blooms even after the first light fall frosts. These are tall plants (3-4') that benefit from some staking by the heart of summer.
