Gloriosa Daisy (Rudbeckia hirta) My mother passed these seeds along to us and labeled them as Black Eyed Susan 2018 (R. hirta)...fair enough, so we lined them out last year. We had no idea they would grow into the giant bi-colour flowers of ‘Gloriosa’, a variety of the Black Eyed Susan. The large 5 to 9 inch single blooms are rich golden orange or mahogany red, with continuous flowering habit throughout summer. Grows in various soils requiring full sun for best results, but will tolerate partial shade. Heat & drought tolerant once established and the deer seem to leave them alone vs other daisy species. A low maintenance flower that adds a nice contrasting dash of colour to any landscape.
