Scabiosa - Imperial Mix (Scabiosa atropurpurea) - Also known as the 'Pincushion Flower', this annual produces showy blooms of full double round flowers in rose, purple, pink, lavender, burgundy, and white. Flowers are persistent from mid-summer until frost and should be dead-headed regularly. Plants grow from 30-40 inches tall. Scabiosa flowers are heavy nectar producers making them very popular amongst pollinators. Scabiosa thrives in full sun and in well-drained soils making it an ideal xeriscape plant.
