Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate (Persicaria orientalis) This annual heirloom variety, also called Ladyfinger or Prince's Feather came to Pennsylvania, USA in 1737, when Peter Collinson sent fellow botanist John Bartram some seeds from his gardens in the UK. This species is both male and female and is pollinated by insects.  It is highly attractive to hummingbirds and many other pollinators. A wonderful landscape plant that will self-seed itself readily so it needs to be contained or it will naturalize and potentially become invasive. A great feature plant for a specific location in your garden. A stand out with its weeping-like rose-coloured florals 'Ladyfinger' will easily reach 6-8 feet in height. Protect from high winds and do not over-fertilize or the stems can develop weakened cell wall structure. Makes a great cut flower!

40 seeds per packet $4.45

Planting Instructions: Seeds require a cold period for germination of 4 weeks. Pre-soak for 24 hours, then direct sow at 1/8 inch depth after last frost. Can also be direct sown in late fall to experience natural stratification.
