Full Moon Lavatera (Lavatera trimestris) A focal point in any garden, these snowy white, 4-inch wide flowers glow under the moonlight in our darkest fields. Our seed source comes from a beautiful city park in Sudbury ON (2018). A local photographer was kind enough to show me a few heirloom flower hot spots in the area, the Lavatera mound was absolutely a highlight and luckily there were a plethora of seeds still available. 'Full Moon' is a heavy bloomer on 2-3 foot tall plants that resemble a small shrub by late summer, making it a great landscape plant for mass/block plantings. Like most Lavatera species, this is a late bloomer until significant frost hits. Late season flowers may show a hint of a very light pink hue in the early morning or evening. Quite a remarkable species, we think it has a place in everyone's garden!
