Pink-Fringed Crimsonia (Dianthus superbus) - Sweetly scented, cherry coloured fringed blooms surrounding fuchsia pink centers. These heirloom cottage garden flowers have been cultivated since the early 1800’s. Grown for their edible flowers and sweet clove scent, they make excellent border plants with their delicate fringed flowers. Crimsonia flowers attract butterflies and bees and can be grown in a wide range of soils. Crimsonia will self-sow providing you with a continual supply of these lovely antique flowers for many years. A stand-out at Connie the 'Seed Nanny's'  flower gardens in Chipman Brook, Nova Scotia!

Growing Information: Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost, sow in seed starting mix, covering containers with humidity dome to retain moisture. Keep at 18-20°C and remove covering once germination occurs. Set out transplants at 12 inch spacing  after last frost date.
