There are seed catalogues from the 1940s also referring to this pink-orange variety as 'China Carnation' and 'Poet’s Pink'. Newport Pink is a long flowering biennial that is ideal as a mixed border species or container plant. This antique variety makes a wonderful cut flower and will attract butterflies and bees to your garden. Will self-sow in the sunny location you provide! Plants reach 16-20 inches in height.

Growing Information: Start indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. This is a biennial plant, flowers will bloom in the second year. Seeds can also be sown directly in summer, after the last frost.
