Black Sesame (Sesamum indicum) Our seed source was generously gifted to us by the Secret Garden in Blyth, ON. These plants are very easy to grow and require minimal maintenance. By the warmest days of summer, plants typically reach 3–4 feet in height. Gorgeous pink blooms appear on terminal spikes in early August, followed shortly by the formation of seed pods. As the pods mature, they transition from green to brown and can be easily harvested by shaking out the dry pods.

Planting Instructions: Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date. Transplant out in a sunny location after the risk of frost. The more heat, the better when it comes to sesame plants!
