Thai Basil (Ocimum basilicum) Thai basil, referred to as káu-chàn-thah in Taiwan, is a type of basil native to Southeastern Asia. A popular culinary choice, making a very flavourful addition to sweet dishes. Three inch green leaves have a spicy, clove-like flavour. Bees will arrive on the attractive purple stems and pink-mauve blooms. Also known as 'Horapha' in its mother country. Vietnamese call this plant "Hun Que". Plants reach heights of 18-24 inches.
