Jalapeño Pepper Zelinski Strain (Capsicum annuum) - This is a very tough and blockier version of the early Jalapeño strain with origins to the gardens of the late Earl Zelinski of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Earl gifted the seeds to his daughter Kathy in 1998. We have been very pleased with the plant response each year that we have grown them. We find this strain performs well in the Maritimes. Yields are always fabulous. Plants are somewhat larger leafed and the fruits are slightly blocky on the shoulders. In terms of heat, they are similar to Early Jalapeño. Peppers from this strain do keep longer in storage by 7-10 days. A rare and very hardy family heirloom, we are excited to offer these Jalapeño Pepper seeds!

Scoville heat units (SHU): 2,500 – 8,000
