Rouge d'Hiver Romaine Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) - An extremely beautiful 1800s French-heirloom Romaine lettuce. Its large, flat, broad leaves are sweet with a smooth, buttery texture. Stands up very well to our cool and wet Atlantic climate.
Planting Instructions: Sow Lettuce seeds 1/4 inch deep in early spring when soil temperature is between 10-20 degrees Celsius. Thin heading Lettuce to 12 inches apart and loose types to 8 inches.
