Vilmorin Garden Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) - A French heirloom from the Vilmorin Garden dating back to the mid 1800s. Also referred to as 'Asparagus Lettuce'. Green leaves are long with purple frosted edges. A very tender, buttery, and sweet wavy leaf type. We sow this variety in the very early days of spring and again in fall. A very prolific producer in cool damp weather.

Growing Information: Sow lettuce seeds 1/4 inch deep in early spring when soil temperature is between 10-20 degrees Celsius. Thin heading lettuce to 12 inches apart and loose types to 8 inches.
