Drumstick Flower - Billy Button (Craspedia globosa) My grandmother referred to these Golden globes as Billy’s Buttons. She grew them in Zone 3 on the prairies which is noteworthy since they require 110 days to flower. I guess fall blooms are better late than ever!  Enjoy 1" globes on long, stiff stems are easy to harvest and use as cut flowers. Grass-like, silvery green foliage. As a cut flower, it has a long vase life and as a dried flower, it retains its colour. Tolerates heat. Tender perennial in Zones 8–11.

40 seeds per packet $4.45

Planting Instructions: Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Press seeds into the surface of the soil in a pot or seed tray. Very lightly cover seeds with a dusting of soil medium or vermiculite. Spray with a spray bottle frequently so seeds do not dry out. Keep in a warm lighted space until the seeds germinate. Expect seedling emergence within 14 to 21 days. To achieve maximum blooms, ensure the plant receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Can be directly sown outdoors after the last frost following the same procedure as starting indoors.
