Mardi Gras Coreopsis (Coreopsis tinctoria) A festive annual with upright stems but exhibiting bush-like habit. Mardi Gras produces lance-shaped leaves and an abundance of single golden flowers with a dark burgundy-red center star. Petals are acute and make a beautiful flower for dying. Like all coreopsis, Mardi Gras is sun-loving, and drought-tolerant plant that is quite tolerant of insects and disease, however, they do not tolerate prolonged wet soils. These heat-loving beauties produce masses of long-lasting blooms throughout summer making them ideal for mass plantings or as a bed filler. Plant height is between 16-24 inches.
