Wando Garden Pea (Pisum sativum) This might be our best heat tolerant pea we have ever grown! We had sown this one late in 2023 and in succession with great success, even through a second sowing where conditions were quite hot for several days. Plants stood up well and continued to flower with excellent yields of dark green pods, filled with 6-8 delicious tender peas. Wando was developed in 1943 from Laxton’s Progress and Perfection varieties. It has become a staple of many vegetable gardeners for over 80 years. We highly recommend.
