Belarusian Pickling Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) A gardening friend of ours from the Shuswap region of BC sent us some of these rare heirloom Belarusian cucumber seeds in 2024. The note read “the farm next door has been growing these very early pickling cucumbers for years…finally tried them, wow! I wanted to share with you folks and hope you can offer seeds to your customers.” Belarusian Cucumber vines are quite prolific producing a healthy harvest of 5-6" pickling cucumbers. Fruits are quite vintage with small spines early in development. We enjoyed these as a slicer in our sandwiches and in cucumber water. Fruits develop quite early in the season, which surprised us, in fact, as early as 48 days. It is one of the earliest cucumbers we have ever harvested. Great for pickling and a good choice for northern latitudes.

25 seeds per packet.

Planting Instructions: Seed indoors 1/2 inch deep. Line out transplants after risk of frost has passed, spacing 5-6 feet apart. Direct seed in raised hills sowing 5-6 seeds 1/2 inch deep. Soil temperature should be at least 21 degrees C. Space mounds 5-6 feet apart, thinning to 3 plants per mound. Cucumbers can be trellised.
