Alaska Pea (Pisum sativumThis is a classic shelling pea, dating back to the 1880's. Plant in the spring or fall as it has very good cold tolerance, and excellent disease resistance. A heavy yielding plant that grows to a medium height of 2-3ft. Pods are pale green and straight, containing five to eight smooth peas. This plant did extremely well in our trials of both sandy-loam and clay-loam soils.
