Chester Reese 'Sweet Apple' Pepper  (Capsicum annuum) ) It is quite common for customers to offer us seeds, but not so common for different customers from miles away to offer seeds from the same gardener. This is the case with Chester Reese, whom I unfortunately never had the pleasure of meeting before he passed away. Chester lived in Port George Nova Scotia and was well known for his spectacular gardens of flowers and vegetables... a local arboretum of sorts that turned many heads as they passed through picturesque Cottage Cove, tightly aligned to the Bay of Fundy coastline. These Sweet Apple pepper seeds, along with a mysterious bush bean, were gifted to us from a former local resident now living in Red Deer AB who claimed they were grown in Chester's gardens many years ago. Coincidentally enough, three days later, another local resident, Paul Moase of Margretsville, dropped into the farm to offer some Japanese Iris seeds he also collected from what was originally Chester's stock. Chester Reese Sweet Apple peppers are a heart-shaped chili pepper with a really nice sweet flavour. These have shown very good disease resistance. Deep Red and sweet tasting, plants produce multiple fruits on 2 ft plants. A wonderful cooking and roasting pepper.
