California Golden Wonder Pepper  (Capiscum annuum) First published in seed catalogues in the early 1920s, this native of Central and South America was discovered by Christopher Columbus and other explorers who brought the peppers back to Europe at the end of the 16th century. This is the golden version of the red California Wonder pepper, also a smooth thick-walled pepper but Golden has a distinct blunt-end. Fruits reach 5″ x 4.5″  and ripen fairly quickly on plants, turning green to golden. This is a very sweet and mild pepper, ideal for northern growing regions. We have had wonderful results each year since 2018 when the first trials began. Expect to harvest fruit around 63-73 days from transplant. Golden peppers are very prolific producers of large fruit that are superb for fresh eating and general kitchen usage!
