Spanish Mammoth Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum) This heirloom pepper is also known as Doux D'Espagne, originally marketed in the late 1880’s as the largest pepper in France! At this time it was commonly shipped to the large markets in Paris from warmer areas of southern France. Fruits are typically 6-7 inches long and popular in culinary use for frying or in salads. A very sweet and flavourful pepper becoming more popular in recent years with more seed offerings. Excellent disease resistance with very good storage qualities.

Planting Instructions: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Sow 1/4 inch deep and keep soil warm. Transplant into 1 inch cells or 2 inch pots at 1-2 leaf stage. Harden off plants for 4-5 days after risk of frost has passed. Transplant outdoors once day and night temperatures are consistently above 10 degrees Celsius.
