Cosmos has a unique history dating well back before the 16th century when Spanish sailors brought large quantities of seed and back from Mexico to Madrid. This seed selection comes from my grandmother Katie's farmyard. Tube like -seashell pedals range form pastel pinks to rose, fuchsia and white, attracting birds, bees and butterflies. Fern like leaves make this species a wonderful texture in dried flower arrangements. Cosmos is a tall growing annual that can reach height of 5 ft. Planting Instructions: Sow directly at 1/8-1/4" depth or start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date. Sow seed no deeper than 1/8" in soil and lightly cover with dome or plastic film until emergence. Keep under full light and harden plants off 7-10 days before lining out. Keeping seedling trays close to 20 C will enhance germination.
