Black from Tula Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) - A Ukrainian family heirloom beefsteak producing somewhat flattened, ribbed fruit. This beautiful slicer features dark, chocolate-coloured flesh with complex flavour ranging from sweet and rich to slightly salty and smoky, depending on your microclimate and growing conditions. Fruits are brownish-red, flattened-globe shaped, and can weigh up to 20 ounces. An excellent choice for slicing and fresh eating, and also well-suited for canning. Plants are high yielding with low blemish and minimal disease issues. Vines require staking or sturdy support.

Planting Instructions: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Sow 1/4 inch deep and keep soil warm. Transplant into 1 inch cells or 3-4" pots at 1-2 leaf stage. Harden off plants for 4-5 days after risk of frost has passed, then transport outdoors.
