Green Zebra Tomato (Mountain Mike) (Solanum lycopersicum) In 2017 we were informed of an old timer named Mike who grew the best Green tomatoes in the Annapolis Valley. We paid Mike and his rather formidable looking great Burmese Mountain guard dog a visit in July of 2018. Low and behold, those Green tomatoes were noticeable from 50 feet away. Mike had been growing this variety for almost 35 years on his mountain farm and was kind enough to gift us selected specimens from his 50 foot row...in exchange for some of our organic garlic seed! In 2019, we lined out 50 plants from Mike's seed source. WOW! The best looking and tasting Green Zebra’s we have ever grown with bright green flesh and deep lime-green stripes, a highly attractive tomato indeed. Biting into one was even better, they are very rich tasting, sweet with a special sharp zing! It is no wonder the Green Zebra is so popular among chef’s, foodies and home gardeners. Expect high yields well into the late lazy days of summer. BTW Mike’s dog turned out to be a real sweetheart!
