Jaune Flamme Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) This French heirloom is said to have been first cultivated as early as the mid 1700's. We acquired the seeds from a customer in 2018 who has grown over 300 different tomato varieties in her Ottawa Valley garden, and rated this one in her Top 25 list! Thank you Joyce!! Jaune Flamme makes a wonderful salad tomato with its glowing orange skin and citrus-like flavour. A great drying tomato that retains its orange colour. Plants are highly prolific producers of 2" fruits that resemble Mandarin oranges. This is an indeterminate growing variety but the vines are shortened, however, staking or trellising is a good idea to keep the plant in check! You will need to pick these daily as they ripen rather quickly on the vine. These juicy Jaune Flamme tomatoes currently make our top 10 list!
