Principe Borghese (Solanum lycopersicum) An old sun dried favourite that produces like a cherry tomato and will definitely benefit from support since it is a tall growing variety, ripening all at once. This Italian heirloom is an extremely prolific producer, of what seems like a never ending supply of lovely plum shaped deep red tomatoes, born on semi-indeterminate vines. A low seed count makes it ideal for sauces and of course it is a fabulous drying tomato. We have also used it in canning and in salads. Principe Borghese is crack-resistant and has good disease resistance to blight and leaf spot.
