Valencia Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) This heirloom tomato originates from Valencia , Spain. North American introduction dates back to the mid 1800's in Indiana and eventually throughout the New England states. Our seed source comes from an avid tomato grower near Woodstock, New Brunswick. Indeterminate vines produce rounded orange mid-sized fruits with few seeds. A very flavourful variety with smooth skin and firm texture. Requires staking, very good cold tolerance noted in late spring when transplants were lined out.

Planting Instructions: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Sow 1/4 inch deep and keep soil warm. Transplant into 1 inch cells or 2 inch pots at 1-2 leaf stage. Staking tomatoes (indeterminate) should be transplanted into 3-4 inch pots. Harden off plants for 4-5 days after risk of frost has passed, then transport outdoors.
