Heritage Dore Pole Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) An old French Canadian heirloom with Canadian origins tied to the Cantin family of Quebec where it was grown for many generations. Our seed source comes from our friends at the Secret Garden in Blyth, ON. The light mustard coloured seeds are very popular as baked beans. Likely a variation of the Old Canada Bush Bean, which is one of the oldest types of beans, the difference being the intense colour of the seed. A fairly early bean that dries marvellously on the plant and is a definite pleasure to shell.
