Guryn Golden Wax Bush Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) This is a prolific, compact bush bean with very slender pods, otherwise similar to the Pencil Pod Eastern Wax or Imperial Golden wax in growth habit. The beans were originally grown in the gardens of Mike and Chris Guryn of McGregor, Manitoba. The seeds were collected by my father, Emil in the 1980's and grown thereafter. We first grew the beans in 2018 and lost the entire row to a hungry, browsing doe and fawn, despite the fence!! We were left with 93 seeds! It took two years to regain enough inventory to offer this wonderful family heirloom for sale. A very nice tender fresh bean that is easy to process and cook with.
50-55 days to maturity
50 seeds per packet
Planting Instructions: Direct sow after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed to 15C. Plant seeds 1" deep and space 2–3" apart in rows 18–36" apart. Keep soil evenly moist during germination. Bush beans prefer full sun and well-drained soil.
