Hidatsa Red Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) A very hardy heirloom dry bean originally grown by the Hidatsa peoples of the Missouri River Valley of North Dakota. Later introduced by Oscar H. Will & Co. in 1915. This flattened shaped bean can be dried and used in soups, humus and chili. A very pleasant texture and remarkable deep red colour! Plants climb up to 3-feet tall and can tolerate inclement weather situations.
