Turkey Craw Pole Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) Apparently the original seed source was snatched from the craw of a wild turkey by a farmer in the mid 1800's somewhere in West Virginia. This is a climbing green bean that can be eaten fresh as a green bean, or dry in soups and stews. A very rich tasting bean with nice texture. We trellis this one since it has a pronounced pole habit.
